The AI Scanner reads a paper business card or event badge and creates a contact for you. It fills in the name, email, phone, company, job title and address.
Scan a card or badge
Open the AI Scanner tab. You can also use Contacts → Add New Contact → Use AI Scanner, or Scan on the Lock Screen QR.
The first time, allow camera access.
Point at the card or badge so it fits inside the frame ("Point at an event badge or a business card and take a photo"), then tap the shutter button. To use an existing photo, tap the gallery button and pick it.
Wait a few seconds while it's analysed.
Check the details on Create Contact, add a lead rating or notes, and tap Save. Turn on Send my business card to this contact to email them your card at the same time (button Save & Send Card).
Scan limits
The number at the top, Scans left, shows how many scans you have. Free accounts get a small number of scans. HeyDrop Pro includes up to 100 AI scans per month, and the count renews monthly. When you run out on the Free plan, the upgrade screen opens.
Tips for good results
Use good light and avoid glare on glossy cards.
Fill the frame with the card, held flat and straight.
Scan one card at a time.
Always review the fields before saving. Fix anything misread directly on the Create Contact screen.
Camera doesn't open / black screen
If you denied camera access, HeyDrop shows Enable Camera In Settings. Go to iPhone Settings → HeyDrop → Camera and turn it on. Then close and reopen HeyDrop.
Nothing happens after taking the photo
Check your internet connection. Scanning needs a connection. Then try again. If Scans left is 0, you've used your scans for now.
Can it scan QR codes of other HeyDrop cards?
Use your iPhone's Camera app to scan someone's QR code. Their card opens in the browser, where you can save it to your phone.
